Conspiracy to occupy the Ganabhaban in Sri Lankan style- Obaidul Quader

Some names and numbers of the instigators were given by the coordinators- Haroon ur Rashid, DB chief.

Coordinators are answering about instigators, but they have not been arrested yet- Home Minister

From the beginning, the steering of the quota reforms movement was in the hands of ordinary students, but the ordinary students could not hold it until the end. The movement was robbed by BNP-Jamaat and the anti-development faction of the country. While the students are doing peaceful movement, those gangs who are on the streets in the guise of agitators destabilize the country by attacking the government and private institutions and play the game of overthrowing the government. Obaidul Quader, Minister of Road Transport and Bridges of the Government and General Secretary of Awami League commented that it is very much in "Sri Lankan style".

Yesterday, he said, there was a conspiracy to occupy the Ganabhaban "Sri Lankan style" if the curfew was not imposed on the night of July 19. He said the target was to take over the Prime Minister's house in Sri Lanka style by launching a mass coup led by a guy (Tarique Rahman)  living in London and dreaming for power. Meanwhile, after the intensity of the movement moderated, the interrogation of the coordinators of the movement is also revealing a lot of sensational information.

They are also giving the names and numbers of some politicians who contacted them during the movement. They also spread money to increase the intensity of the movement through various means. Aid, incitement, financial supply, in fact, the information of the overall cooperation in the fall of the government is now coming to light in the investigation and interrogation of the law-enforcement forces.

In this, the central directive of vandalism, violence and arson comes from the building in the capital that was also found by the special unit of the police, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime, CTTC. Funds were collected and distributed from that building called 'Abasar' located on 5/A road in Dhanmondi area. CTTC raided the building on Saturday evening, July 27.

CTTC chief Asaduzzaman said that the violence that happened in Dhanmondi and Mohammadpur areas was led from that building. In addition to hand grenades and weapons, huge Jihadi books were recovered from that building during the operation. Recently, the indigenous weapons used by them in sabotage, the weapons used in vandalism, and attacks on the police were also ordered from that building. All the instructions and coordination of attacks on government buildings were also done from that building. Jamaat-e-Islami's activities were conducted in a militant style for the last five years from the central office of the metropolis in that building.

The head of CTTC said that the names of several big donors who have given funds to the movement have been found. They will also be raided. The instructions for the attack on the Home Minister's residence were given from that office.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the five coordinators of the anti-quota movement have been taken into DB custody for security reasons. Families who are in a confused and fearful situation are rumored. However, DB chief Haroon ur Rashid says they have been taken into DB custody for safety. But the unsavory circle Jamaat-BNP around the young students wanted to intrude on this opportunity and bring down a democratic government. The gang wanted to set fire to important state institutions in a pre-planned manner. That's why we fear, may be this circle will do something by using the student again, that's why we have taken the coordinators into DB custody for the sake of security. Besides, we also asked them about who tried to contact them during the movement, who incited them and we also asked them about various issues. They gave us some names and numbers.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan is also saying the same thing. He said, if the police think coordinators are safe, they will be released. Before this they themselves said, they are in danger. Stating that they have not been arrested, the Home Minister said that they are being interrogated about political party or who instigated them. We are asking them about the agitation that later turned into violence. They are also giving answers to these.

Earlier, during the movement, the program was limited to 'Bangla Blockade', but on the night of July 18, Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, announced a "complete shutdown" across the country. After the announcement of the program, virtually all institutions and activities except hospitals and emergency services were closed across the country. All vehicles except ambulances were stopped on the road. The situation in the country became turbulent. Attacks and arson began targeting important structures. After that many casualties have happened.
