Kendua Upazila Parishad election will be held in the fourth phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad election. In this election, 6 chairman candidates, 5 male vice-chairman, and 6 female vice-chairman candidates submitted their nomination papers online by May 9. According to election office sources, there are 2 lakh 72 thousand 332 voters in 13 unions and 1 municipality in Kendua upazila. Among them 139396 are male voters, 132894 female voters, and 06 Hijra voters. Candidates for chairman six are current chairman of upazila parishad and former president of upazila Awami League Nurul Islam, former joint general secretary of upazila Awami League, Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, two-time elected upazila vice chairman Mofazzal Hossain Bhuya, two-time former Chirang Union Parishad chairman Salma Akhter, Nurul Alam Jahangir Chowdhury and Mohammad Mizanur Rahman.
The five candidates for the post of Vice Chairman are activists Mamunul Kabir Khan, Harunur Rashid Talukder, Yar Khan, Motasim Billah and Yahia Khan. Six women vice chairmen are Selina Begum, Jahanara Rozi, Meena Akhtar, Fatema Begum, Sumi Akhtar and Syeda Smriti Akhtar Shapla. According to Kendua Upazila Election Office sources, the last day for submission of nomination papers for the fourth upazila parishad election is May 9, May 12 for verification of nomination papers, May 13-15 for appeal against selection of nomination papers, May 16-18 for disposal of appeal, last date for withdrawal of candidature is May 19, Symbol awarding will be held on May 20 and polling on June 5 through ballot from 8 am to 4 pm continuously.
