25 candidates from six constituencies of Barisal lost their security in the 12th National Assembly elections. They did not get enough votes to get their security deposit back in the polls held on Sunday. According to the data provided by the Barisal District Election Commission, 73.52 percent of the candidates lost their security in the 6 constituencies of the district. Barisal district election officer Ohiduzzaman Munshi said that a total of 34 candidates contested in 6 seats of Barisal district. Out of this 9 candidates will get their security deposit back. 25 candidates will not get their security deposit back. Awami League candidate district Awami League president Abul Hasanat Abdullah is getting his security deposit for the Barisal-1 constituency. Other two candidates for this seat Cherniabat Sekender Ali and Md. Tuhin lost their security deposit. Bangladesh Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon and closest rival AK Faizul Haque Raju are getting their security deposit in the Barisal-2 constituency. Nakul Kumar Biswas, Iqbal Hossain Tapas, Shahjahan Siraj lost security deposit .
Gholam Kibria Tipu and independent candidate Atiqur Rahman are getting their security deposit in the Barisal-3 seat. Gholam Kibria Tipu who got a security deposit got 51 thousand 810 and Atiqur Rahman got 24 thousand 123 votes. Sheikh Tipu Sultan, Mohammad Aminul Haque, and Azmul Hasan Jihad lost their security deposit in this seat. Pankaj Debnath, the only independent eagle symbol candidate, will get his security deposit back in the Barisal-4 seat. Mizanur Rahman, candidate of Jatiya Party's plow symbol, and Hridoy Islam Chunnu lost their security deposit. Zahid Farooq Shamim and Salahuddin Ripon got back their security deposit in the Barisal-5 seat unofficially.
Abdul Hafiz Mallik and Mohammad Samsul Alam get their security deposit in the Barisal-6 constituency. Jatiya Party presidium members Nasreen Jahan Ratna, TM Zahirul Haque Tuhin, Mohammad Mohsin, Shahbaz Mia, Kamrul Islam Khan, Zakir Khan Sagar, Mainul Islam, and Musharraf Hossain lost their security deposit.
