33 bigha govt lands recovered

 

The upazila administration recovered 11.26 acres (about 34 bighas) of government land at Mirzapur of Tala upazila, adjacent to the Khulna-Satkhira highway. Around 5 pm on Tuesday, under the leadership of the Executive Magistrate and Tala Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Arafat Hossain, the Upazila Land Office and Patkelghata Union Land Office conducted a joint operation to recover these lands.

It is learned that over 11 acres of land were illegally occupied by a circle for 50/60 years. Recently Tala Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Arafat Hossain noticed this huge amount of land under illegal occupation. Later, he informed Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Humayun Kabir and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Afia Sharmin, Deputy Commissioner Humayun Kabir instructed the Assistant Commissioner of Lands to recover government land.

Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Arafat Hossain said that the land was acquired by the government between 1960 and 1962. The said land was occupied by illegal occupiers since the acquisition. About 11.26 acres of land (34 bighas) was recovered after being illegally occupied for a long time through the operation on Tuesday afternoon.He said that a circle of government had been illegally occupying this place for many years. The site has been marked with red flags to prevent trespassing in the salvaged area. However, if anyone tries to enter or occupy this place illegally, strict legal action will be taken against them.
