Police arrested Saidul Islam alias Shaon, who was sentenced to 20 years' rigorous imprisonment in an arms case filed under the Arms Act in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria.
Police Media Wing Brahmanbaria said this in a press release yesterday afternoon.
Earlier, Assistant Sub-Inspector (unarmed) Golam Samdani of Sarail Police Station conducted a special drive in Pathanpara area of Sadar Union and arrested him.
The arrestee was identified as Saidul Islam, son of late Hanif Pathan of Pathanpara area of the upazila.
Brahmanbaria 1st Judge Court handed down the sentence in a case filed under the Arms Act in 2014 with Sarail Police Station.
