60 BGB personnel have arrested a drug dealer with 48,000 pieces of banned drug Tapentadol tablets worth tk 1.5 crore from the Burichang Indian border area of Cumilla.
On Tuesday afternoon, the BGB conducted an anti-drug operation in the area under the responsibility of Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) and seized 48,000 pieces of Indian banned drug Tapentadol tablets from a place called Jangalbari, approximately 2 km inside Bangladesh from the border pillar 2067/8-S under Burichong Upazila of Cumilla.
At that time, the BGB arrested a drug dealer named Md Jasim Uddin. The arrested Jasim is the son of the deceased Abdul Jabbar of Sreepur village of Adarsh Sadar Upazila of Cumilla.
The BGB said that the estimated value of the seized Tapentadol tablets is Tk 1 crore 46 lakh 60 thousand. The accused along with the seized drugs have been handed over to Burichong Police Station in Cumilla district.
