The body of a housewife named Anisha Akhter (25) was found hanging in Saturia upazila of Manikganj. The body was recovered from the housewife's living room in Savar area of Baraid Union of the upazila yesterday at 10:30 am.
Locals said that about 12 years ago Anisha, daughter of Anis Ali of Tarabari village of Sujanagar upazila of Pabna district, got married to Nazrul Islam, son of Naya Mia of Kalmaid village of neighboring Nagarpur upazila. They have a five-year-old daughter named Maryam Akhtar. About four years ago, they built a house in Rajjab Ali's garden house in Savar village of Saturia upazila and started living there. The deceased's husband Nazrul Islam works as a handloom worker in Savar area. Their family life was going well. But even after 10:30 in the morning yesterday, the neighbors found the door of the housewife Anisha Begum's house locked and kept calling her. But as there was no response, the door of the house was broken and her body was found hanging inside the house.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Saturia police station Md Mahbub Alam said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. The body will be recovered and sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for post mortem. The actual cause of death will be known after the post-mortem. However, legal action in this regard is under process.
