The leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami visited the temple in Kishoreganj. At that time, they assured the priests of the temple that no one would be able to attack them. Jamaat-e-Islami is beside them.
The party leaders visited all the temples in the city from 11 am to 1 pm yesterday. The leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami stood beside them fearing attacks on temples or the Hindu community across the country after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country.
Earlier on Monday night, the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir guarded different temples in the district.
District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Professor Ramzan Ali said, "We have instructed our leaders and activists to stand beside the people of the Hindu community. I asked them to give them courage. Jamaat-e-Islami is beside the people of the Hindu community. We think there is no minority in the country. Everyone is a citizen of the country. Today I am visiting all the temples in the city. We assure them that we stand by the people of the Hindu community. They live here, no problem."
