A 15-member committee of the Union of Journalists was formed with journalists working in Tala of Satkhira.
Ajker Patrika Tala Upazila Correspondent Selim Haider presided over the discussion meeting held at the office of the Union of Journalists yesterday afternoon.
Selim Haider of Ajker Patrika and Md Jahangir Hossain of Inqilab were made president and general secretary of the committee.
The other office-bearers of the committee are- Md Shahinur Rahman of Daily Kalbela, SM Nahid Hasan of The Daily Kalbela as vice-presidents, Sekander Abu Jafar of Amar Sangbad as joint general secretary, Shafiqul Islam of Daily Bangladesher Khabor as organizing secretary, Taposh Sarker of Daily Kafela as office secretary, M Khairul Alam of Tala Khabor as publication secretary, Shirina Sultana of daily Pratidin as women affairs secretary.
The other executive members are Md Nur Islam of the Dainik Sangram, Arjun Biswas of the Dainik Dakkhinchal Pratidin, Kazi Imran Hossain of the Dainik Jashore, Sheikh Imran Hossain of the Dainik Runner, Asaduzzaman Raju of the Dainik Noapara.
