New faces in three UP elections

 

After about 13 years of elections in 5 Union Parishads of Sadar Upazila of Lakshmipur district, there have been changes in three. The Union Parishads are Dalal Bazar, Dakshin Hamchadi, Laharkandi, Tewariganj, Bangakhan. The matter has been confirmed after voting in Dakshin Hamchadi, Dalal Bazar, Bangakhan, Laharkandi and Tewariganj Union. The result has been announced by the returning officers in charge of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila. Nazrul Islam in Dalal Bazar UP, Ashraful Alam in Laharkandi and Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan in Bangakhan are new faces as chairman in UP elections.

Among the other 2 UPs, the current chairman Omar Farooq Ibn Hussain Bhulu in Tewariganj Union and Mir Shah Alam in South Hamchadi were re-elected. According to the sources of the returning officer's office, Mir Shah Alam (Ghora) was elected as the chairman by getting 6 thousand 244 votes in South Hamchadi Union of Laxmipur Sadar Upazila. His nearest rival Kamal Uddin Chowdhury (Chasma) got 2 thousand 698 votes. Mir Shah Alam is the President of South Hamchadi Union Awami League. Nazrul Islam (Chasma) was elected chairman by getting 6 thousand 355 votes in Dalal Bazar Union. His closest rival Noor Nabi Chowdhury (Autorickshaw) got 4,760 votes. Nazrul Islam is a lawyer of Lakshmipur Judge Court.

In Bangakhan Union, Mizanur Rahman (Chasma) got 6,400 votes and was elected as chairman. His nearest rival Sheikh Jamal Ripon (Motorcycle) got 3 thousand 390 votes. Member Secretary of Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan Lakshmipur District Farmers League.In Laharkandi Union, Ashraful Alam (Telephone) was elected Chairman by getting 5 thousand 5'83 votes. His nearest rival Khorshed Alam Shaheen (Autorickshaw) got 3 thousand 773 votes. Ashraful is the former vice president of Lakshmipur District Chhatra League.
