Munshiganj district administration provided three sewing machines to the families of three day laborers who were martyred during the anti-discrimination student movement in Munshiganj.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Abu Jafar Ripon handed over the assistance to the families of the Zila Parishad office yesterday afternoon.
Earlier on August 4, Md Sajal (30), Riazul Farzi (40), and auto-rickshaw driver Dipjal Sardar (19) were killed during a movement to topple the government.
The relatives of the deceased were helpless after losing the breadwinners of the family. Later, the families are returning to relief with the assurance of taking over the responsibility of the DC. The families were given cash last week. Later the sewing machines were given them yesterday. The DC also announced financial assistance for them.
DC Md Abu Jafar Ripon said the nation will remember with respect those who were martyred during the movement. We will be with the families of the martyrs in any need. We will bring the families under all the facilities that are available in all types of government institutions. Support for families will continue.
Sajal's father Ali Akbar Mollah and younger brother Saiful Islam, Riazul Farazi's wife Ruma Begum and Nur Mohammad alias Dipjal's mother Ruma Khatun, Zila Parishad Executive Officer Md Amlam Molla, Munshiganj Press Club Vice-President Golzar Hossain, member Mainuddin Sumon, Jamuna Television staff correspondent Arafat Raihan Sakib, Dainik Bangla correspondent Shihab Ahmed were present.
