Titon Banik, a small businessman in Akhaura municipality of Brahmanbaria. He is living from hand to mouth by his business. But Wednesday night, a terrible fire to ashes burnt all goods of his house.
It is learned that Titon and his family locked themselves in the house and went to the Ganganagar festival to listen to Harinam Sankirtan. Neighbors and passers-by suddenly saw smoke coming out of Titon's house. In no time, the fire burnt Teton's residence and all the furniture in the house to ashes. Meanwhile, the fire spread to the house of Saiful and Shipan. Later local people and a unit of fire service tried to bring the fire under control after about two hours.
Akhaura Upazila Executive Officer Angyajai Marma visited the spot after receiving the news. He said that ten thousand rupees have been given to the affected families. Along with that, they will get all possible support from the government.
Akhaura fire service station in-charge said, the fire might be started from an electrical short circuit.
