Mehruba Islam, Alikadam Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Bandarban, who broke the trophy, has been transferred to Dhaka Division. This information was given in a notification given by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday.
It has been said that the Alikadam upazila executive officer of the BCS (Administration) cadre has been assigned to Dhaka division. From there he has been asked to be posted in one of the upazilas.
Earlier on September 23, UNO Mehruba Islam broke the trophy of the champion and runner-up teams after participating in the prize distribution ceremony at the end of the final game of the football competition in Alikadam Upazila, Bandarban.
Criticism of UNO began when a video captured by eyewitnesses of the incident went viral on social media Facebook. Local public representatives said that there was a protest in Alikadam on September 24 demanding the withdrawal of UNO in protest against the breaking of the trophy.
