Three drug peddlers held in Manikchhari

Manikchhari police have arrested three drug peddlers with 40 liters of locally made liquor in a special operation. On Thursday, drugs are one of the terrors of public life in today's society. Khagrachhari District Police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police of Khagrachhari Hill District, Mr. Mukta Dhar, PPM (Bar) is working continuously to eliminate this terror.

In continuation of this, during the special operation conducted for the eradication of drugs, at around 10 pm, SI (Retd)/ Ashiqul Islam, along with the officer and force, were on special operation duty at GD No. 889 in this police station area, while staying in Amtola area under Manikchhari police station, on the basis of a tip-off that 03 people came to know that 03 people were going to Jamtala Madina of Ward No. 01 of Manikchhari Union under Manikchhari police station for the purpose of selling illegal drugs. The accused, Miyu Marma, 35, Makhai Ching Marma, 43, and Shishu Chandra Chowdhury, 47, were arrested along with 40 litres of stolen liquor seized from them.

The arrestees were identified as Miyu Marma, 35, son of Changchathui Marma, a resident of Ghilachari area of Rajsthali upazila of Rangamati district & Makhai Ching Marma, 43, son of Kyazaima Marma, a resident of Dakgharpara area of Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati district & Shishu Chandra Chowdhury, and 47, of Doctor Tila area of Guimara upazila of Khagrachhari district

Manikchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Ansarul Karim said a case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act. The accused will be produced before the court in due course as per the rules, he said.
