Tafsir Ahmed Mallik Lal, Chairman of Khaskarara Union Parishad at Alamdanga Upazila of Chuadanga has been suspended. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Snigdha Das confirmed the truth of this information.
Local Government Department of Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry of Local Government issued the order regarding UP Branch-1. This order signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Anisuzzaman was issued by order of each state on May 7.
Sources said that according to the local decision, a man and a woman were beaten and demanded extortion by putting shoe necklaces around their neck, who were accused of an extramarital relationship. A case was filed in Alamdanga police station in this incident. For this reason, the temporary suspension order was given to the chairman Tafsir Ahmed Mallik Lal.
Acting Deputy Director and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Human Resource and Development) Sharmin Akhter of Chuadanga Local Government said that the Ministry of Local Government has temporarily suspended Khaskar as the case was filed in the name of the UP Chairman. He has also been asked to show reasons within 10 working days. If the ministry is unsatisfied after showing reasons, it can also impose permanent expulsion.
