Village police dies of dengue in Shariatpur

A village policeman named Abul Hossain (50) died of dengue fever in Shariatpur. He died while undergoing treatment at Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka around 3am on Wednesday.

Kaneshwar Union Parishad Chairman Anisur Rahman Bachchu confirmed the matter yesterday morning.

The deceased Abul Hossain was the son of Nur Mohammad Bepari of Priyakathi area of the upazila. He was working as the village police of Ward No 4 of Kaneshwar Union Parishad.

According to local, village police Abul Hossain had been suffering from fever for several days. Family members admitted him to Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday morning as his fever did not recover. When examined, the doctor confirmed that he was infected with dengue fever. However, his condition was deteriorating by then. Later, he died while undergoing treatment at around 3 am on Wednesday.

Local UP member Hossain Montu said that he was a very modest man. I never thought he would die of dengue fever like this. He has two daughters and a son.
