Water and saline distributed

A severe heat wave is sweeping over the country. Temperature records are being broken every day. People's life is disrupted due to intense heat. A three-day heat alert was issued across the country from last Saturday as the heat intensified which was later increased. Social organization Youth Action Society-YAS is providing water and saline to quench the thirst of city dwellers and laborers who go out for urgent needs. Jhalakathi District Health Department cooperated in this. From 10 am on Wednesday, the members of Yas provided this service at the fire service intersection of Jhalakathi city. Jhalakathi Civil Surgeon HM Zahirul Islam, Yasser's adviser and women leader Israt Jahan Sonali, social worker Hasan Mahmud were present. Also, YAS general secretary Mahidul Islam, organizing secretary Sabbir Hossain Rana, finance secretary Rahat Mahmud Jiban, members Roni Chandra, Arafat, Saqib Hasan, Rubayet Islam, and other officials and employees of the health department.

Dr. HM Zahirul Islam said that people's lives are disrupted due to intense heat flow. Still, many are going out for urgent needs. Especially working people are out in search of work. Pedestrians, rickshaw drivers, and passengers going to different destinations on the road in intense heat are being distributed pure water and saline to give some relief in the intense heat. Apart from this, a public awareness campaign is going on to avoid heat stroke and keep health safe. Our activities have been going on since morning in the fire crossing area. Israt Jahan Sonali, advisor of YAS said that Jhalkathi residents are also suffering due to heat flow. So we are distributing water and saline to common people. Water and saline have been distributed to at least 1,000 pedestrians, rickshaw drivers, and passengers since morning. Our service is open to all working people. As long as there is ongoing heat flow we will continue to try to keep this activity going on.
