Today marked the beginning of the three-day International Advanced Components and Technology (ATS) Expo-2023 in Dhaka, which will have more than 50,000 industrial materials, components, and services on display from exhibitors.
The huge industrial show was organised by Walton, the top electronics producer in the nation, and was held in the International Convention City Bashundhara.
Walton has become a symbol in Bangladesh's manufacturing industry, according to Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, who presided over the event's opening as the chief guest.
Walton has already planned to export $10 billion by 2030 and has already generated 30,000 employment.
"The products that Walton is manufacturing are helping us reduce the pressure on the country's foreign currency reserves," the minister said.
Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, Mahbubul Alam, newly elected president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Samir Sattar, president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Golam Murshed, managing director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, were also present.
