The Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society (SAUFS) has called for film submissions for the 5th edition of the Sylhet Film Festival (SFF).
On Monday (October 17), at 12 pm the film submission process for the 5th Sylhet Film Festival was launched at Sylhet Agricultural University Student Counseling and Guidance Office. Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society’s Chief Advisor, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Office Prof. Dr. Md. Mostafa Samshuzzaman inaugurated the film submission process on the `Film Freeway` platform. Film Society’s President Sabyasachi Niloy, General Secretary Kibria Sumon, Joint Secretary Siddiqur Rahman Sujan, Al Imran Toha, Organizing Secretary Rajibul Islam and Finance Secretary Dipankar Adhikari were present on the occasion.
Filmmakers can submit films in a total of 6 categories in the film festival till 18 November. Films can be submitted by visiting the link https://filmfreeway.com/sylhetfilmfestival without any fee.
Since 2017 Sylhet Agricultural University Film Society has been organizing the Sylhet Film Festival with the aim of encouraging independent films. In last season of SFF, 3061 short films were submitted from 112 countries. Due to the lockdown due to the outbreak of Corona virus, 109 films selected by the service are screened online and online discussions are held with prominent people from the film world of the country and abroad. Besides, the organization is regularly organizing various events including film exhibitions and workshops.
