273 more Rohingyas moved  from Tumbru to transit camp

To move the Rohingya sheltered in Tumbru of Naikxyongchari Upazila of Bandarban ,273 members of 53 more families brought on the camp on the second day Monday as part of the process .

This information was given by Cox‍‍`s Bazar Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman. He said, on the second day on Monday, these Rohingyas were brought to the transit camp adjacent to the Kutupalong Rehinga camp. With this, 457 people from 88 families were moved in 2 days. On the first day, Sunday, 184 Rohingyas from 35 families were evacuated. In this process, a total of 2,970 Rohingyas from 558 families who have taken shelter around Tumbru Government Primary School will be evacuated.

The Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner said that among the 184 people brought on the first day, those who had prior registration were sent to their respective camps. Those who are not registered will be re-registered and sent to the camp. According to the information of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner‍‍`s office, due to the conflict between the Myanmar armed groups ‍‍`Arsa and RSO‍‍` at Tumbru border of Naikxyongchari Upazila of Bandarban, they fled from the Zero Line camp and took shelter in the vicinity of Tumbru Government Primary School on the territory of Bangladesh.

Since August 25, 2017, more than 800,000 Rohingyas fled from Myanmar and took shelter in Bangladesh. Before this, 1.2 million Rohingya including those who fled at different times were sheltered in 33 temporary shelter camps in Ukhia and Teknaf of Cox‍‍`s Bazar district. RRRC (Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner) is doing the overall maintenance and administrative responsibility of those camps. On the other hand, the Rohingya camp located at the Tumbru Konarpara Zero Line is being handled by the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC). There are more than 4500 Rohingya in 630 families in the camp was living On January 18, Rohingya Hamid Ullah was killed and two others were injured in a shooting-fire incident at the Rohingya camp on the zero line of Tumbru border in Naikshyongchari. At this time, the homes of Rohingyas living on the zero line were burnt. After that, they pitched a tent in the Tumbra market and took shelter. But currently 2970 Rohingyas are found there, but no one can tell where the rest are.
