Nurul Islam Khodadad, principal of Bartha DI Fazil Madrasah in Naogaon's Dhamoirhat, has been accused of embezzling Tk 13.65 lakh from a job seeker named Md Shahid.
The victim, Shahid Rahman, filed a written complaint with the Joypurhat RAB camp on May 15.
According to the complaint, the principal of the madrasah advertised in the newspaper that they would take people for the vacant post of office assistant cum accounting assistant. There, the victim Shahid Rahman applied as a candidate. Later, madrasah principal Md Nurul Islam demanded Tk 14 lakh to appoint him to the post. In the presence of Aranagar UP Chairman Mosaddekur Rahman and panel chairman Abul Kashem, he was given Tk 13.65 lakh in cash in the presence of the defendant. Later, on December 12, 2023, the board was appointed to recruit people for that position, but the principal did not appoint him to the job as he said, but appointed another person.
Then on the 24th of that month, when Shahid came to the madrasah and talked about not giving him a job, the principal Md Nurul Islam behaved indecently with him. When Shahid wanted the money back, he refused to return his money.
The victim job seeker Shahid Rahman said, "He (the principal) took money from me by luring me with a job. I asked for the money back from him as he did not give a job, but he has not returned the money so far."
Aranagar UP Chairman Mosaddekur Rahman said, "The principal took money from Sohel in front of me in the name of giving a job."
Principal Nurul Islam did not receive calls on Khodada's mobile phone several times. So it was not possible to take his statement.
Confirming the authenticity of receiving the complaint, the officer-in-charge of Joypurhat RAB camp said, "We have received a complaint in this regard and legal action is under process."
It is to be noted that he was sentenced to five months in a case of embezzling money of an NGO. Later, police sent him to court on March 6. He was temporarily suspended from the madrasa while in prison. However, he is currently out of jail on bail.
