In the first phase of the sixth upazila election, the election of Kushtia Sadar Upazila and Khoksa Upazila Parishad ended peacefully.In this election, the current chairman of Kushtia Sadar Upazila Parishad, Ataur Rahman Ata, has been re-elected unofficially as chairman. He got 67 thousand 481 votes. Abu Taib Badshah was elected as vice chairman and Lata Khatun as female vice chairman.
The number of voters in 145 polling stations of Kushtia Sadar Upazila was 4 lakh 20 thousand 833. 71045 votes are valid and 2254 votes are invalid. 17% of voters cast their votes in Kushtia Sadar Upazila Parishad elections.On the other hand, Al Masum Morshed Shanto was elected to the post of Chairman in the Khoksa Upazila Parishad elections. His closest rival was the current upazila chairman Babul Akhtar.
