Bangladeshi students organize anti-China protest against oppression of Uyghur

The Bangladesh Students Union has organized a demonstration in Khulna city to protest the persecution of minority Uyghur Muslims in China‍‍`s Xinjiang province. On Sunday (February 5), this human chain and rally and protest march program was celebrated at Royaler Morre in Khulna.

Khulna City Students Union president Archisman Debnath presided over the human chain and protest rally. Huzaifa Al Amin, Vice President of District Students‍‍` Union, Rumi Rahman, Assistant General Secretary of Metropolis, Education and Research Affairs Secretary Deep Vaidya and many others spoke on the program. The human chain and protest rally was organized to commemorate the historic Ghulja Massacre Day of the Uyghurs. At this time, solidarity was expressed to the freedom movement of the Uyghurs. In the gathering, general secretary of the organization Joy Vaidya said, "February 5 is Ghulja Massacre Day. On this day in 1997, when a movement started in Xinjiang province of China, the government there suppressed it. Many Uyghur freedom fighters were killed indiscriminately. Thousands of protesters were put in jail. The torture and persecution of the freedom-seeking Uyghurs is still going on. “He also said, "There are currently one million Uighur Muslims detained in China‍‍`s prisons. According to principles and ideals, the Bangladesh Students‍‍` Union will speak for every oppressed people in the world. We stand by the demand for closure.” After the human chain, a protest march ended at the United Nations Children‍‍`s Park.
