Diarrhea cases rise in hospital

 

 

In Kendua of Netrakona, the condition of people panting is in intense heat. People are suffering from various heat-related diseases including typhoid, and heat stroke. This increases the number of patients in the hospital. Hospital authorities are struggling to cope with the pressure of additional patients. Although people of all ages have suffered, the elderly and children have been overcome the most in this heat. About 60 percent of hospitalized patients are children. Most of them are suffering from diarrhea. According to hospital sources, after last Eid-ul-Fitr, the number of patients in hospitals has increased almost twice.

The majority of them are children. There are 85 male and female patients admitted to the 50-bed Upazila Health Complex Hospital. Most of these patients are children. Most of these children are suffering from diarrhea. Other children are suffering from fever, pneumonia, typhoid, and respiratory diseases. More children were treated in the outpatient department. Meanwhile, going to the spot, it was seen that, Upazila Health Complex, it can be seen that there are more diarrhea patients now than at any other time. Huge crowd are in front of the ticket counter and Standing in line with tickets in front of the emergency department. Ward beds, floors, and balconies are crowded with patients and relatives of patients.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ebadur Rahman said that the number of children suffering from diarrhea in the hospital is high. We are trying to provide the best service to the patients. But people need to be aware this summer. They should drink more water but of course normal water. Refrigerated water should not be consumed. Besides, extra precautions should be taken in case of children. Children should be bathed regularly and kept clean. Children should not be allowed to sweat in any way. For this, they have to wear thin clothes. There is no shortage of medicines including saline in the hospital, he said.
