Tiger killed a honey collecter named Moniruzzaman Bachchu Gazi while collecting honey in West Sundarbans of Satkhira range. The forest department said that there had been a tiger attack in the Natabeki area of Sundarbans. Deceased Bachchu Gazi is the son of deceased Abul Kashem Gazi of Dumuria village of Gabura union in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira.
Assistant Range Officer of Satkhira Range Noor Alam said that on April 2, Bachchu Gazi went to collect honey from the barren Sundarbans along with his fellow farmers. He was reported to have died in a tiger attack in the morning. Meanwhile, a team from the forest department has left for the spot to recover his body. The details will be known when they return, said the forest department.
