U-15 boys and girls athletics training and certificate distribution, organized by Mymensingh District Sports Office, were held. Certificates of this month-long training were distributed among the young athletes yesterday at the local Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium. Joint Secretary and 'Director of the Directorate of Sports', of the 'Ministry of Youth and Sports', ANM Tariqul Islam was present as the chief guest.
Md Ehteshamul Alam, President of Mymensingh District Awami League, General Secretary of Mymensingh District Sports Association; Md Muminul Hasan, Principal of Government Physical Education College, Muktagacha; AKM Delwar Hossain Mukul, President of Mymensingh District Football Association were present as special guests.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ariful Haq Mridul presided over the function on behalf of Deputy Commissioner Didar-E-Alam Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury. District Sports Officer Md Abdul Bari gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
140 students from 26 schools of Mymensingh Sadar Upazila participated in this month-long training. From there 26 people were selected and given this month-long training. Out of these 26, 12 talented players were selected. Certificates were distributed among these 26 athletes.
It is to be noted that, during his visit to Mymensingh district, ANM Tariqul Islam inaugurated the 'Sheikh Russell Foara Somabesh Chattor' at Government Physical Education College, Mymensingh under the purview of the Department of Sports, and announced the inauguration of 'Inter House Sports Competition-2024' as the chief guest. At that time, the principal of the college Muminul Hasan, and the students including the lecturers, officers, and employees of the college were present.
