A huge uproar has started among the Babuganj and Muladi upazila residents of the district over the new two chairmen and a woman vice chairman candidate. The contending heavyweights are at a disadvantage due to new candidates. As election day approaches, ordinary voters for change have begun to rally behind the three candidates. Candidates have been active in the electoral field for a long time. The three candidates discussed were the chairman candidate of Muladi Upazila Parishad, the organizing secretary of Central Jubo League, and Zahir Uddin Khosru. In addition to the party leaders and activists, the Jatiya Party leaders and activists have come to the field in public mass communication in favor of Zahir Uddin Khosru, who is widely known throughout the upazila as a clean-image candidate. The other two candidates are Adnan Alam Khan Babu, a talented former student of the political science department of Dhaka University, who created a stir in the election field, and Maureen Akhtar Asha, the joint general secretary of the Upazila Mahila Awami League, a female vice-chairman candidate of Babuganj Upazila Parishad.
It is known that the Barisal-3 (Muladi and Babuganj) parliamentary seat has been in the possession of the Jatiya Party for a long time. Even though Jatiya Party has not declared a single candidate in the local elections, JaPa's support has been playing a key role in the victory of the candidates. In the upcoming Upazila Parishad elections, Jatiya Party workers-supporters in these two upazilas have already entered the field by supporting the three discussed candidates. Two brothers have been candidates for the chairman of Hijla Upazila Parishad in the second phase of the election. This has created a lot of excitement in the entire upazila.
