Nafees Iqbal dropped, new World Cup manager

The manager of the Bangladesh national cricket team has been changed. BCB senior media manager Rabed Imam will replace Nafees Iqbal as the manager from the New Zealand tour to the T20 World Cup.

Nafees performed his last assignment as a manager in the UAE. A BCB director said that the manager has been changed mainly in the wake of the complaints of the cricketers.

Nafees has been appointed as the manager of Bangladesh Tiger in BCB. Nafees was given the responsibility of acting logistics manager for the home series against Pakistan after Sabbir khan, the former manager of the cricket management department, left the job after the last T20 World Cup. Since then, he has been performing his duties.

However, a section of cricketers complained that they did not get good treatment from Nafees. Some of the cricketers who returned from the Zimbabwe tour also complained to team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon.

The board decided to change the manager before the matter reached a controversial stage. A new manager may be appointed at the end of the World Cup.
