Election Commissioner (EC) Md. Alamgir has warned of strict action against the agents of the candidates if they indulge in rigging in the voting.
Talking to reporters at his office in the election building ( November 15th), EC Alamgir said that strict action will be taken against the agents of the candidates who help in rigging or rigging in the polling centers. Therefore, agents cannot be kept out of the center. No party will accept this. If the mosquito enters the mosquito, it will not be possible to burn the mosquito. Mosquitoes have to be removed. Similarly, if any agent is involved in irregularities, action will have to be taken.
"Many people say EVMs are a rigged machine. We discussed with experts after taking charge. In the past election experience, I have seen that there is no scope for EVM manipulation. We are not experts from the technical point of view, those who are experts have said. I also called the teams to bring their technical team and test them.
He said that the first thing that is said about EVMs is that the results can be changed by programming. Those who speak theoretically may be right. But in reality, this is not true at all. You can say that a company`s medicine is adulterated. But it is not that all companies` medicines are adulterated. Our EVMs are different. Many people say it`s like India`s EVMs. In fact, it cannot be compared to India. India`s EVM voter identification is done manually. Our EVMs are automatically identified. Since we have a voter database with pictures and fingerprints. Therefore, all the information of the voters is verified through the machine. There is no scope to do this in India`s EVMs.
He said the second thing is that the programming done in this EVM can only add to it. They can add up to the votes of the candidates who are there. Can`t do anything else. The programming is done that way. So there is no chance that anyone will manipulate from the machine or from outside. Because the chips that have been used, where it is written, are one-time usable. So once it is written, there is no chance of re-writing or editing.
The former EC secretary said, "Another is that our EVMs do not have any connection with the internet. Given that connection with the ballot unit, it is customized but. You cannot insert any cable, drive purchased in the market. You cannot add any device other than the device that has been created only for this EVM.
He added that it only adds and subtracts. Like a calculator. There is no scope to change such a program in the calculator. We don`t have that opportunity in our EVMs. There is propaganda about EVMs, those who say that they do not understand without knowing. They can check any EVM if they want.
Md. Alamgir said the advantage of voting in EVMs is that there is no opportunity to vote before and after the election or there is no opportunity for anyone to come and vote without a voter. There is a weakness, if the voter is not allowed to enter the secret booth, there is this opportunity. If 10 percent of the voters come to the center, then 10 percent of the votes can be cast. And 10 percent of the voters on the ballot can actually vote 100 percent. There is no scope for fraud through this.
