A state mourning is being observed today, following the crash of a fighter jet used for training yesterday at the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, resulting in many casualties.
On this occasion, a prayer meeting was organized at the Bidyut Bhaban Mosque after Zuhr today, praying for the peace of the souls of the deceased and the speedy recovery of the injured.
In the prayer meeting, Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Chairman (Grade-1) Engineer Md. Rezaul Karim prayed for the eternal peace of the souls of the deceased and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members. He also wished the injured in the accident a speedy recovery.
The BPDB Chairman said, Such a big accident is a source of immense grief and pain for us. I pray that Allah Almighty accepts the deceased as martyrs and grants them to Jannatul Firdaus. At this time, he also requested the officers and employees of BPDB at all levels to personally stand by the injured with the attitude of providing all possible cooperation.
Members of the BPDB, as well as officials and employees from all levels, participated in the prayer meeting.
