The closing parade of the 23rd batch of fresh battalion Ansars of six months of basic training was held at the Bangladesh Ansar VDP Academy in Safipur, Gazipur, yesterday morning. Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Director General Major General AKM Aminul Haque took the salute as the chief guest. Additional Director General Khondkar Farid Hasan, Acting Commandant of Ansar and VDP Academy, Deputy Director Generals and other senior officers and employees of the force were present. The parade starts at Yad Ali Parade Ground at 9 am. The chief guest arrived through the western end of the field in the security cordon of the cavalry team. He visited each contingent in a well-decorated open green jeep wrapped in a red carpet. At that time, Acting Commandant of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy Md. Fakhrul Alam and Additional Director General were with the Chief Guest. Later, the contingents, led by the parade commander, march past in six rows to greet the chief guest.

The trainees took an oath to dedicate their lives to the service of the country and the people of Bangladesh by raising their hands towards their respective scriptures with a firm spirit and sticking to the constitution of Bangladesh. The chief guest handed over prizes to the best trainees among them. Out of a total of 479 new battalion Ansar trainees, Murad Hossain Rahad won the award for excellence in drill, Md. Selimuzzaman Setu was the best in firing and Khoda Bokhs Mridha won the award for the smartest trainee.
