Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo theatre is being constructed in Barishal at a cost of Tk 412 crore to build a developed and prosperous country. Barishal Public Works Department (PWD) is working relentlessly to implement the project under the Ministry of Science and Technology with the funding of the Government of Bangladesh Development Fund.
According to the sources, the work of the Barishal Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo theatre project costing Tk 412 crore in the area adjacent to Barishal University (BU) in South Charaicha Mouza of Sadar Upazila is progressing fast. A team comprising members of the Ministry of Science and Technology, PWD, Department of Architecture, Bangabandhu Novo theatre Project Director General and Project Director is visiting and directing the project more than once.
After the inspection, various directions were given to all concerned to determine the pint level (PL) of the project site and accelerate the pace of work. In continuation of that, the work of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo theater project up to four floors has almost been completed. Office blocks, planetarium blocks, plazas and dormitory buildings will be constructed in the project. A boundary wall will also be constructed.
Several students of Barishal University said that the architect of the great independence, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman establishment adjacent to the university will play a helpful role in the science-minded advanced education of the students of BU. My students are very happy that this establishment is adjacent to the university.
Executive Engineer of Barishal PWD Md Faisal Alam said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken initiative to build Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo theatre under the Ministry of Science and Technology to educate the marginalized students of the southern region in science-minded education. Officials of Barishal PWD are working relentlessly to implement the project quickly.
BU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Badruzzaman Bhuiyan said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo theatre will open the horizon of astronomy through space research. After the inauguration of the project, the students will be able to gain knowledge about space exhibition, 5D edutainment simulator, digital exhibition gallery and 5D movie theaters through Novo theater.
