People from all walks of life in Dharmapasha and Madhyanagar upazilas have congratulated Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy for nominating as an adviser to the present interim government.
Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar was born in 1963 in Madhyanagar Bazar of Sunamganj. He completed SSC from Sunamganj Government High School, HSC from Dhaka College and MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College.
On February 27, 2020, he took over as the director of the National Institute of Mental Health. Earlier, he was serving as the head of the Department of Psychiatry at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
In addition to psychiatry, Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy is also involved in writing. His published books include The Psychology of Social Consciousness (2016), Epicurus, Modernity and We (2018), Sigmund Freud and Afridrian Freudists (2020).
MMA Reza Pohel, general secretary of Dharmapasha Upazila Press Club, said, "I personally know Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy, he was very honest, clean and talented and used to serve the poor helpless people. Today, the people of Dharmapasha and Madhyanagar are proud and happy for him. Congratulations and best wishes for my grandfather."
Former chairman of Madhyanagar Union Parishad Prabir Bijoy Talukder said, "Today we are proud to have Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar as an adviser to the interim government."
