First phase  election winner of some districts

In the sixth upazila parishad election, the first phase of the election was held in the different upazilas of different districts. News sent by our correspondents.

 

Gazipur:

In the first phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad elections, Gazipur Sadar, Kapasia and Kaliganj Upazila Parishad elections were held on Wednesday in Gazipur district. In this election, the Awami League leader won the post of chairman in two of the three upazilas and the newly expelled district BNP leader won in one. After taking the votes and counting, the Returning Officer and District Election Officer AHM Kamrul Hasan announced the results at around 9:30 pm. In the Gazipur Sadar Upazila Parishad elections, the newly expelled District BNP Vice-President and former Upazila Parishad Chairman Izadur Rahman Milon was elected unofficially with the Ghora symbol. He got 18 thousand 969 votes.

According to the announced results, Belayet Hossain (Tubewell) has been elected as the vice chairman in this upazila. Meanwhile, District Awami League Vice-President Advocate Amanat Hossain Khan (Motorcycle) was re-elected privately in Kapasia Upazila Parishad elections. According to the announced results, Hafizul Haque Chowdhury Ayub (Tia Pakhi) was elected as the vice chairman in this upazila. On the other hand, former vice chairman and upazila Awami member Mohammad Amjad Hossain Swapan (motorcycle) was elected unofficially in the Kaliganj upazila parishad election. According to the announced results, Mozammel Haque (Tia Pakhi) was elected as the vice chairman in this upazila. Juena Ahmed (Has) was also elected as the female vice-chairman. It is to be noted that the election of the other two upazilas of the district, Sreepur and Kaliakair Upazila Parishad, will be held in the second phase on May 31.

Barishal:

Barishal Sadar and Bakerganj upazilas voted in a fair and peaceful environment without any untoward incident. Voting was held on Wednesday from 8 am to 4 pm. Returning Officer Barisal District Senior Election Officer Ohiduzzaman Munshi said that the voting was conducted in a fair and peaceful environment. He said that 36.10 percent of votes were cast in Barisal Sadar Upazila. 24.6 percent has fallen in Bakerganj upazila. Abdul Malek was unofficially elected to the post of chairman in Sadar Upazila. In this upazila, the former president of Mahanagar Chhatra League, Jasimuddin, who contested on the tala symbol, was elected privately to the post of vice chairman. He got 29 thousand 937 votes. Besides, advocate Halima Begum was elected as the female vice chairman. He got 41 thousand 535 votes. On the other hand, Rajiv Ahmed Talukder, who contested on the Cup-Peerich symbol, was unofficially elected to the post of Chairman in Bakerganj Upazila. He got 38 thousand 865 votes. Besides, Abdus Salam was elected as vice chairman and Jahanara Begum as female vice chairman.

Magura:

In the 6th Upazila Parishad elections, Rana Ameer Osman in Magura Sadar Upazila and Shariat Ullah Rajan in Sreepur Upazila were elected unofficially. Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mizanur Rahman announced the result at the Magura Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium on Wednesday night.

At this time, he said, Rana Amir Osman won by getting 83 thousand 571 votes in motorcycle symbol in Magura Sadar Upazila. Baharul Islam was elected as male vice chairman by getting 54026 votes on tubewall symbol. Newcomer Sonia Sultana 59710 has been elected as the female vice-chairman. Also, Sreepur Upazila Election Officer of Magura Zakaria declared the result. Shariat Ullah Hossain Mia Rajon won with 44 thousand 947 votes in results.Nargis Sultana was elected as female vice chairman with 31433 votes with football symbol. Male Vice Chairman Babul Reza was elected with 26656 votes on Tubewell symbol.

Rajbari:

Upazila Awami League president Khondkar Saiful Islam buro was elected as the chairman in Rajbari's Pangsha upazila parishad election with the motorcycle symbol and Aliuzzaman Chowdhury Tito, member of the upazila Awami League as the chairman in the Kalukhali upazila parishad election, was elected as the chairman with the Anaros symbol. After the counting of votes on Wednesday night, District Election Officer and Returning Officer of Pangsha and Kalukhali Upazila Parishad Election Oliul Islam gave this information.

In this election, president of Pangsha Upazila Awami League and former chairman of Machpara Union Parishad, Khondkar Saiful Islam buro was elected by getting 54 thousand 577 votes on the motorcycle symbol. Apart from this, AKM Saiful Morshed was elected as vice chairman in this upazila by getting 26 thousand 435 votes. Dilruba Parveen Iti was elected as female vice-chairman by getting 47 thousand 381 votes. On the other hand, the current chairman Aliuzzaman Chowdhury Tito was elected as chairman in Kalukhali upazila by getting 38 thousand 578 votes.In addition, Mahmud Hasan Sumon was elected as vice chairman in this upazila by getting 20 thousand 955 votes.  Former vice chairman Sharmin Akhter was elected as female vice chairman by getting 19,669 votes.

Joypurhat:

Kalai Upazila: Upazila Awami League President Minfuzur Rahman Milon was elected as Chairman in Kalai Upazila of Joypurhat by getting 42454 votes.

 Khetlal Upazila: In Khetlal Upazila of Joypurhat, Khetlal Town Awami League President Dulal Mia Sardar was elected by getting 30,390 votes.

Akkelpur Upazila: District Awami League Vice President Moksed Ali Mondal was elected in Akkelpur Upazila of Jaipurhat by getting 19539 votes.

Brahmanbaria:

Former General Secretary of Upazila Jubo League Sher Alam and Vice President of Upazila Awami League Roma Akhtar won in the election of Sarail Upazila Parishad in Brahmanbaria district. Former General Secretary of Upazila Jubo League Sher Alam has been elected in Sarail Upazila Parishad elections.On the other hand, Upazila Awami League Vice-president Roma Akhter was elected in Nasirnagar Upazila Parishad elections. After the counting of votes, the district election officer and the election returning officer Sadekul Islam announced the results.

 

Khagrachari:

In the first phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad elections in Khagrachari, the results of four Upazila Parishad elections have been announced in three upazilas. Due to the suspension of polling in two centers due to the encroachment of the center in Lakshichhari upazila of the district, the announcement of the results has been postponed. Abul Kashem Bhuiyan has been elected to the post of Chairman in the Matiranga Upazila Parishad elections of Khagarchari. Ali Hossain was elected as the male vice chairman. Amena Begum was elected as the female vice chairman. Biswa Pradeep Kumar Karbari, Joint Secretary of Upazila Awami League in Ramgarh Upazila Parishad has been privately elected Chairman.Mubarak Hossain Badsha was elected as the vice chairman.Nachima Ahsan Nila has been elected as female vice chairman.Joynal Abedin, the current chairman of Manikachari Upazila Parishad and president of Upazila Awami League, has been elected privately. Chalapru Marma Niloy, president of Upazila Chhatra League, has been elected as vice chairman. Upazila Women's Awami League vice-president Nurjahan Arfin has been elected to the post of women's vice-chairman.
