Five robbers arrested red-handed

Police arrested five robbers while preparing for robbery on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway. They were arrested last Friday night from Kamarali Road in the Baradarogahat area of the upazila. Local weapons were recovered from them. Those arrested were sent to court yesterday morning.

The arrested Md Khokon (28) is the son of Abu Siddique of Char Elahi area of Companyganj police station of Noakhali district, Md Mostafa Prakash Chowdhury (35) is the son of Jamal Mia of the same area, Md Suman Mia (33) is the son of Abdul Mannan of Muchapur area of Sandwip upazila of Chattogram district, Md Rasel Hossain (33) is the son of deceased Altaf Ali of the Kedarpur area of Barishal's Babuganj police station and Mansur Alam (36) is the son of Md Mostafa of Dakshin Shaktali area of Nangalkot upazila of Cumilla district.

Mohammad Sahidul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mirsrai police station, said that five robbers were arrested with indigenous weapons from the Baradarogahat area of the upazila while preparing for robbery on the highway.
