The foundation stone of the construction of Baliadanga-Duttadanga bridge (on Kolkata canal) at Kulia of Debhata has been inaugurated.
The work of the bridge was inaugurated at 11 am to facilitate the crossing of the people of Baliadanga-Duttadanga village under Kulia Union.
Satkhira-3 constituency MP, former health minister and chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare Ministry Prof Dr AFM Ruhal Haque inaugurated the work as the chief guest. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Asaduzzaman, leaders of different levels and common people of the area were present at the time.
The 15-metre long Kulia Baliadanga-Dattadanga bridge (over the Kolkata canal) is being constructed under the Department of Disaster Management. The cost of which has been estimated at Tk 1 crore 15 lakh. The contractor firm of Messrs Monir Electronics of Kolaroa has signed an agreement to complete the construction work by November 14.
While inaugurating the construction work of the bridge, Professor AFM Ruhal Haque said that the present government believes in development. That is why today The Prime Minister is successfully implementing big mega projects in the country. She always thinks about the country and the people. It will take a long time to overcome the amount of destruction that has been wreaked in the country in the last few days. The country and the nation have lagged behind.

While inaugurating the bridge, he instructed the contractor to complete the work properly. At the same time, AFM Ruhal Haque MP gave various directives to the officials concerned to supervise the work.
