Jamaat-e-Islami believes in justice

'Jamaat-e-Islami does not believe in politics of revenge, it believes in justice. Barrister Najibur Rahman Momen, son of late Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami, the former Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, commented that the fascist murderer Hasina and her accomplices should be brought to trial.

Maulana Matiur Rahman said these things at the doa mahfil ceremony organized for the repose of Nizami's soul at Manmathpur village of Santhia upazila in Pabna yesterday afternoon.

He said, "When Sheikh Hasina said that the children of war criminals are conspiring. Then Arman disappeared. I left the country in May 2016 on the advice of the Ameer of the Jamaat due to the fear of going missing. When my father was hanged, I was not allowed to attend his funeral. After more than 8 years, I returned to my country and visited my father's grave.

Najib Momen said, "All those involved in the so-called trial, including my father, who were killed on false charges of crimes against humanity, must be prosecuted." Who was involved, how the investigation was conducted, how the witnesses were handled. These need to be properly investigated. And this trial is the responsibility of the government.

Amir of Pabna District Jamaat-e-Islami Prof Abu Taleb Mondal, former District Amir Abdur Rahim, Assistant Secretary of District Jamaat Abu Saleh Md Abdullah, Amir of Bera Upazila Jamaat Dr Abdul Based, Amir of Santhia Upazila Jamaat Maulana Mokleshur Rahman and other leaders of the district and upazila were present in these programs.
