Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Mokaram Hossain Dewan Liton, a life convict in a drug case, from Bangabandhu Road area of Joypurhat municipality. This information was given in a press release sent from Joypurhat RAB camp yesterday morning. The arrestee was identified as Mokarram Hossain Dewan Liton, son of late Mehedi Hasan Dewan of Khadail village in Badlgachi upazila of Naogaon.
Major Md Sheikh Sadiq, company commander of Joypurhat RAB camp, said that on July 24, 2018, a team of Joypurhat RAB camp set up a check post in Bagzana area of Panchbibi upazila. During the search, an intoxicating ampoule injection was recovered from the body of Mokarram Hossain Dewan Liton. Later, RAB filed a case against him with Panchbibi Police Station. On July 31 this year, Judge Abbas Uddin of Joypurhat Additional District and Sessions Judge-2 court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
