An open market has been inaugurated to keep it accessible to the common people at an affordable price in Rangamati.
In this open market, people can buy it for less than Tk 10 to 30 per kg. People from different classes and professions flock there to buy vegetables at affordable prices. Rangamati Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan inaugurated the open market activities at fair prices at Rangamati Municipality Market premises at 1:30 pm under the direction of the district administration and market taskforce and the anti-discrimination student movement.
DC Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan said that this program has been started so that people can buy vegetables at affordable prices in the market of high prices of commodities. Prices are being kept comparatively lower than the local market. This activity will be conducted until the market situation is under control and according to the demand of the people.
Meanwhile, people of different classes and professions flock there to buy vegetables at affordable prices in the market. And different types of vegetables have been arranged. The prices of all vegetables from the market are low here. Various vegetables including eggs, potato, brinjal, barbati, potato, gourd, cucumber, green chili are available in the open market at fair prices. And people of different classes and professions can buy their necessities in the open market at fair prices. Appreciating such initiatives, buyers have requested to expand its scope in the future.
Chief Executive Officer Md Shamim Hossain, Municipality Secretary Kazi Atiqur Rahman, student representative Shariful Islam Shakil, Abdul Ahad and others were present on the occasion.
