A man held a press conference against his brother in protest against attempted land grabbing and banditry in Maheshpur of Jhenaidah. The press conference was held in Sundarpur village of the upazila on Wednesday morning.
The victim of the press conference, Jilani Mohiuddin Chowdhury of that village, complained that his elder brother Khaja Moinuddin Chowdhury Nayan forcibly had taken over the land acquired and purchased from his ancestors. The Mutation of purchased land and ancestral land is grabbed by his brother. Besides, he is being harassed with false cases in his name at various times.
He further alleged that his brother Nayan and his son Jeban were constantly rehearsing to kill him. They are occupying the litchi trees, coconut trees, betel trees, and mango trees on my land. Complaining about this to the police did not get any results. Even though the police showed me the land, Nayan did not let me go over that land. Also broke all the rods and cement posts along with the wire fence around the boundary pillars in my land. Currently, I am in critical condition of my family and my well-wishers.
Accused Khaja Moinuddin Chowdhury Nayan said that the allegations made against me are not true at all. The land is mine. So I took over.
