Miscreants removed the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from a memorial plaque in front of the headquarters of Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute (BSPI) in Kaptai upazila of Rangamati.
The incident took place on Wednesday after Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country. However, it is not clear who removed the photo from the memorial.
Locals including some eyewitnesses Md Shahjahan, Abed Ali said they came to Sweden on Tuesday and found a memorial plaque with Bangabandhu's photo in front of Sweden Polytechnic Institute, but there was no photo of Bangabandhu. The image has been broken and removed. But no one saw who did it. At present, the plaque is lying empty except for the picture of Sheikh Mujib.
However, attempts to contact BSPI authorities for information about this did not elicit any response.
