Derailed freight train carriage recovered at Tongi in Gazipur. After about 10 hours, train movement became normal. The rescue team recovered the coach around 2:15 pm on Wednesday and the train movement was normal.
Earlier, the train derailed at Madhumita Railgate area around 4 am. At that time, there was a schedule disruption in train movement on Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Syllet, Dhaka-Rajshahi and Dhaka-Mymensingh routes.
Rakibul Islam, station master on duty at Tongi railway station, said that a carriage derailed when the Chittagong-bound freight train from Dhaka reached Madhumita rail gate area outside Tongi station. Due to this, the train schedule on Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka Sylhet, Dhaka-Rajshahi, Dhaka-Mymensingh route was disrupted. However, the Dhaka to Tongi railway is running on one line.
