A mugger was arrested due to the swift action of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party personnel at the entry gate of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The stolen mobile phone and cash were also recovered and returned to the victim.
On the night of Friday, at approximately 12:50 AM, APC Md. Saiful Islam, Ansar member Md. Miraj Uddin, and Ansar member Bipul Roy were on duty at the airport`s entry gate when they observed a person named Md. Shubho (28) trying to snatch a mobile phone and cash from a fellow passenger and flee the scene.
Realizing the situation, the on-duty Ansar members immediately gave chase and managed to catch him red-handed at the spot. Later, the snatched mobile phone and cash were recovered from him and returned to the rightful owner.
Subsequently, the arrested individual was handed over to the Airport Police Station for necessary legal action.
Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party are continuously performing their duties with vigilance, professionalism, and responsibility to ensure public safety, prevent crime, and maintain a secure environment for passengers at the airport and other vital installations across the country.
