Bank transactions normal in Pabna

 

Two new officers have joined the Kashinathpur branch of Agrani Bank Pabna after the temporary suspension of three officers on the charge of loss of Tk 10 crore 13 lakh from the bank vault.They are Abdus Sabur Sheikh, manager of the bank's Pabna Abdul Hamid Road branch and Sohail Rana, cash officer of Ataikula branch. They joined the Kashinathpur branch of Agrani Bank yesterday morning. Meanwhile, on the first working day of the week after the two-day holiday after the mentioned incident, the bank's operations were seen to continue normally. However, many customers went to the bank to inquire about the money loss incident. They checked their accounts and expressed relief. However, the bank official said that the reputation of the bank is at risk of being damaged in this incident.

New branch manager and senior principal officer Abdus Sabur Sheikh said, 'After the incident, I have joined Sohail Rana as branch manager and cash officer on the instructions of the authorities. No problems so far. Transactions are normal. No customer money is missing from vault. He advised everyone not to worry. Senior Principal Officer of Rajshahi Circle of Agrani Bank, who came to inspect the bank's operations, said that an incident actually happened. Due to which the reputation of the bank is at risk of being damaged to some extent. It is normal for customers to panic. Various customers are coming to the bank and making inquiries, checking their accounts.' He said, 'Actually, I cannot say how and where the money went at this moment. Central bank authorities are investigating it. After inspection the whole matter will be clear. I can't really say more than that. We assure everyone there is nothing to fear.'
