Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the price and demand of Chuijhal has increased in Paikgacha. Southern people have been using Chuijhal along with other spices for ages to enhance the flavor of meat. The spice is very popular with the people of this region. Chuijhal sticks are used as a meat seasoning. Chui Jhal is a famous spice in Khulna Satkhira, Bagerhat Jessore area. The roots, leaves and flowers of the plant have medicinal properties. Chuijhal is cooked and eaten with fish and meat. Chuijhal masala is very popular in the districts of Khulna, Jessore, Satkhira, Bagerhat in the southwestern region of Bangladesh. Currently, its popularity is increasing as a delicious flavor enhancer in other districts of the country. The spice is high in terms of demand and price throughout the year. However, Eid really increases the demand of Chuijhal several times. Seasonal traders are sitting with Chuijhal shops in different places. Shops are also crowded with customers. Chuijhal normally costs 400 to 1000 taka per kg, but currently it is sold at 800 to 1200 taka depending on the size.

Shahidul Islam, a seller of Chuijhal in Gadaipur market, said that earlier, I used to sell Chuijhal small (small size) at Tk 400 to Tk 600 and slightly bigger Chuijhal at Tk 800 per kg. On the occasion of Kurbani, the demand in the market increases and more money has to be added to buy at wholesale price. Therefore, according to the size of Chuijhal, it has to be sold at 800 to 1200 taka per kg. Rafiqul Islam, who came to buy Chuijhal, said that he sometimes eats Chuijhal with meat throughout the year. But at the time of Kurbani, meat just doesnt taste the same without Chuijhal.
