Four people were shot dead in a clash between two groups at Chanpara Rehabilitation Center in Rupganj, Narayanganj. The injured have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DHMC).
The clash started on Wednesday (12 April) around 8 am and continued in phases. The injured workers are Md. Sunny, Parvez, Md. Ruman and local resident Eamon.
According to eyewitnesses and local sources, control of the Chanpara rehabilitation center area was once in the hands of local UP member Bajlur Rahman Bajlu. After the death of Bajlu, Zainal Group, Shamser Group and Shahabuddin Group became active to take over the dominance of this area. With this, the group three conducted weapons drills at various times.
Clashes started on Wednesday morning with Shamser and Shahabuddin groups with the Zainal group over the expansion of dominance. At least 12 people including pedestrians from both sides were injured in the clash. Four of them were shot.
Meanwhile, Emon was first taken to Rupganj Upazila Health Complex. However, as the situation is serious, he has also been sent to DM.
