Cultural competition held in Kurigram

On the occasion of the 104th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation and the 31st National Children's Day, the selection phase of the National Cultural Competition 2024 was held in Kurigram yesterday.

Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela Kurigram district branch president Md Gias Khan presided over the national cultural competition organized by Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela at Kurigram Shishu Niketan School premises yesterday.

The groups, subjects and classes of the national cultural competition were Nazrul Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, dance, rhyming, patriotic songs and songs about Bangabandhu. Among them (a) group from first to third class, (b) group from fourth to seventh class, ( c) eighth to tenth class and (d) college to university students, more than hundred students participated in the competition in four groups.

After the dancing, singing and rhyming competition, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela Kurigram District General Secretary Falguni Tarafdar announced the results in the afternoon.

Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela Kurigram District Branch Vice President Ekramul Haque Bulbul, Rashid Khatun, Joint General Secretary Fahmida Anam Laj along with Organizing Secretary Jhuma Ghosh, Kahinur Begum, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Babli Zaman, Cultural Secretary Shyamoli Bhowmik, Office Secretary Masuda were present. Sultana Munni, Sadar Upazila Secretary Mo Mamun Sheikh, journalist Saiful Islam etc.

President of Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela Kurigram District Branch M Ghias Khan said, those who won first and second place today will be sent to the national event in Dhaka. Other winners will be awarded in Kurigram.
