A committee with some people from the development board is throwing sandbags in the river. Corruption is going on there too. 50 sacks of sand are thrown into the river and the account of 100 sacks is being submitted to the authorities. As a result, the breakdown remains the same. No work is done. Vast areas including Talbaria, Bahalbaria and Sahebnagar and Mirzanagar fell under the influence of destruction, the people of the area are completely destroyed as the houses and crops of the fields have disappeared into the river area and that’s why the areas to be protected from the continued erosion of the omnipresent Padma.

People are also following the schedule of water development board around Kushtia with human bond. But It doesn't work.

Kushtia-2 (Mirpur Bheramara) Former Member of Parliament BNP National Executive Committee Member Valiant freedom fighter Professor Shahidul Islam Chief Engineer in Water Development Board took steps to prevent the breach of Padma and informed about the matter, to the DG. After Shahidul Islam informed the DG about the incident in detail, he said Rashidur Rahman, Executive Engineer of Water Development Board Kushtia, to take immediate action. After that no work was done. It has been alleged that the executive engineer has secretly started corruption with the Awami League contractor.

Rashidur Rahman, executive engineer of the Water Development Board, also said that the water in the river has increased by 2-3 centimeters due to continuous rain. Apart from this, the erosion in the area has intensified due to the change in the course of the river and the inclement weather. We have kept the matter under observation. I also visited the scene. Rapid installation of geo bags and geo tubes has started to protect important structures including power transmission towers and embankments.
