Human chain held in Thakurgaon

Human chain program has been held in Thakurgaon for six point demands. The six-point demand includes, permanentization of the employment of contractual irregular artistes in Bangladesh Betar, batch-based promotion of Betar's own Director General and officials.

This hour-long program was held in front of Thakurgaon betar station yesterday afternoon under the banner of 'BCS Information General Radio Officers Welfare Association, BCS Information Engineering Radio Officers Welfare Association,Contractual Irregular Artist Organization. Rashed Faisal Kabir, Deputy Controller and Head of Communications of Thakurgaon Betar Center, Regional Engineer Waheduzzaman, Deputy Regional Director Zahurul Alam, Assistant Program Director Dewan Abul Bashar, Deputy Regional Engineer Rifat Hasan, Assistant Engineer Kingshuk Kumar Roy and others spoke in the human chain.

The speakers said that even though 13 years have passed since we joined Bangladesh Betar, we have not been promoted. Many people have lost their jobs in the past because of internal political filth in Bangladesh Betar which is inhumane and unfair. Therefore, we demand batch-based promotion and regularization of irregular contractual artists by removing discrimination.

Also, the speakers warned of stricter agenda if these demands of ending the deprivation of promotion of Bangladesh Betar officials, implementation of unified BCS information cadre, appointment of own director general of Betar, permanentization of posts of own and irregular artistes of Betar are not implemented soon.
