After the robbery of Ruma Sonali Bank in Bandarban, now the branch of Krishi and Sonali Bank of Thanchi Upazila has been looted by the terrorist Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF). Meanwhile, KNF terrorists looted Tk17 lakh 54 thousand from two banks. Yesterday two banks were robbed and attacked.
The information was confirmed by Thanchi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Mamun. He said that around noon, KNF terrorists entered Thanchi city in two Chander vehicles through Baklai road. Meanwhile, rounds were fired from the top of the hill in front of the upazila. Later they entered two banks and went on a robbery spree. They tried to break the vault in the bank and failed. Before this, the officers and employees of the bank were locked in a room. Meanwhile, KNF terrorists looted Tk17 lakh 54 thousand from the transaction status. Meanwhile, District Administration Shah Mojahid Uddin, Superintendent of Police Saikat Shahin, and Upazila Acting Nirbahi Officer Didarul Islam visited Sonali Bank of Ruma Upazila. After the inspection, Deputy Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin told reporters that the first thing that we checked was that the vault in the bank was broken. And it is yet to be confirmed whether the money was taken from there.
It can be informed after the CID team comes and inspects the test. Meanwhile, panic has spread throughout the district after the bank robbery incident by KNF terrorists in this first hill of Bandarban. Security has been increased in every bank in seven upazilas. The transaction has been closed. Moreover, the administration has increased the strict security of the police army, RAB, APBM and other law and order forces throughout the district and upazila.
In this regard, Bangladesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun told reporters after inspecting the crime scene that Ruma beat the security personnel of Sonali Bank and looted the weapons and ammunition from the police and Ansar. At the same time, they also kidnapped the bank manager.
In response to a question from the journalists, the IGP also said that there is no reason to think that the law and order forces are not capable of suppressing terrorism in the hills. Rather, members of the law enforcement force have greater capacity to combat terrorism. Those who are carrying out terrorist activities in the hills will be severely suppressed. Moreover, we can achieve success in suppressing militancy in this mountainous region.
